About me

Hi, I’m Syeda, a visual designer, illustrator and researcher with more than six years of design experience. I’m pursuing an MA in Design Management at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

I grew up in Dubai, moved to Riyadh, and now live in Toronto. I have worked in all three places, designing for people from many different cultures.

Wherever I have lived, I have enjoyed listening to people’s stories and telling them through my designs. I also like to experiment and bring together ideas from different fields.

Outside of work, I paint, sketch, take photos and spend time looking at art. I also read, study psychology and explore new places. Two of my favorite things are coffee and cats.

How I work

I start each project by reading, watching and asking questions. Then I organize what I learn and choose a format based on how people will use it, such as a poster, a film or a magazine.

I also believe in co-design. When clients and the people who will use the work help shape the ideas, the results are much better.

If you’d like to make something interesting, fun or new, I’d love to hear from you.
